Episode 3 — Trust vs. Control (and the Myth of Perfect Explanations)

Ok this is probably a tough one.

 Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.

That last bit is when people rationalize irony of murderers being saved on their death bed, right?

Like worldly fairness conflicts.

Or maybe arguing the impossible physics of Noah’s ark.

This isn’t an anti-brain verse, it’s anti-control. It’s not just about winning arguments or explaining mysteries. It’s about living from a place of surrender. As long as your trust only goes as far as your logic allows, you’re still living from you instead of Him.

The proverb isn’t saying, “Don’t think.” It’s saying, “Don’t make your thoughts your lord.” Understanding is useful, but it makes a terrible savior.
